5 Natural Treatments You Need To Recuperate From Peripheral Neuropathy

Neuropathy, also known as peripheral neuropathy, is a condition caused by damage or dysfunction of the peripheral nerves. It's not a single health condition but a series of health problems affecting different body parts and functions. Its symptoms may vary widely from individual to individual and depending on the type of nerves affected, but people with neuropathy commonly experience muscle weakness, extreme sensitivity to touch, burning sensation, or in some cases, paralysis.

If you find yourself suffering from these symptoms or get diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, do not worry. This disease may be hard to deal with, but many treatments exist and are widely available. While traditional treatments include physical therapy or surgery, there are also a number of natural treatments you can try at home to help alleviate the symptoms.

WARM BATH

Taking a warm bath is a simple yet effective way to alleviate neuropathic pain. Warm water helps increase blood circulation throughout your body while decreasing numbness. Soaking your feet in warm water is also an effective way to relieve pain and stress.

ESSENTIAL OILS

Did you know that certain essential oils also help increase blood circulation? Go for oils that have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties, such as chamomile, geranium, or Roman lavender. These oils can help reduce the burning or stinging sensation from peripheral neuropathy and help you relax.

CAPSAICIN

If you want to decrease the intensity of pain signals throughout your body, products containing capsaicin can give you some relief from the pain. But while you can find this ingredient in peppers at the dinner table, don’t just rub raw pepper on the affected area! When used for neuropathy, capsaicin comes in the form of topical ointments.

ACUPUNCTURE

If you’re looking for a natural way to reduce pain, consider acupuncture. Researchers are unsure of the mechanism this ancient technique uses, but it’s proven to reduce sensations of pain. Some believe it stimulates the body's pressure points to release chemicals that reduce pain while others think that it can block pain signals from the affected areas.

EXERCISE

Engaging in regular exercise can also help combat neuropathy pain and improve overall health. It releases natural painkillers called endorphins and promotes blood flow to the nerves in the legs and feet. On top of that, it can lower your blood sugar levels and help you manage diabetes, which is one of the leading causes of neuropathy.

HEALTHY DIET

While eating healthy does not immediately relieve pain, it is a good investment in the long run. One of the causes of neuropathy is nutritional imbalances and deficiency, such as a vitamin B12 deficiency. Addressing your nutritional needs as early as possible will strengthen your resilience against neuropathy over time.

There are several alternative treatments for peripheral neuropathy but the best one for you will still depend heavily on the root cause. Nonetheless, it's a good step to incorporate natural treatments and interventions into your daily routine to help decrease its symptoms, prevent further nerve damage, and recuperate with ease. If you begin experiencing negative effects from natural remedies, or if your conditions worsen, consult a doctor immediately.

Consultation with Dr. Beyer was more than I expected ! Doctor answered questions thoroughly and then some . Very personable, professional and knowledgeable. I came in for information on Alpha 2 Macroglobulin treatment .Very new for osteoarthritis and other conditions with great results. He then sent me to Rachel to discuss the procedure. Even more information. I will be going forward with the A2M and stemcell after a meniscus repair. I hope to come back with excellent results and reviews!

We first met Dr Beyer years ago when our son was going through severe back issues. He still raves about how much Dr helped him! Years later I found him again and fast forward to present. I've been seeing Dr Beyer for my back issues for a long time now. Years!! It as times was unbearable. My pain has decreased immensely. I'm very happy with that for sure!! I recently tried the Regenerative Medicine portion of their practice. I had 2 PRP and 1 stem cell injection in my hip and it was given to me by Nurse Practioner Racheal who is wonderful! I was nervous but she really helped me understand everything she was doing, and was extremely comforting! I will say that my back and hip issues have greatly improved. I almost thought it was a miracle!! I still see Dr Beyer for maintenance monthly for my scoliosis. But I do recommend giving the stem cell a try. I am quite frankly amazed. Love the office atmosphere and the wonderful friendly staff that work there! Thank you all 😊 Maryanne
